The Design Process

For my subscription box, I decided on a brand that focused on self-care in a DIY way. I wanted to focus on an audience of people who enjoyed basic crafts that were something with purpose rather than just something that could add clutter to the household. I knew I wanted to keep with light and calming colors, so I pulled from the idea of lavender and vanilla both being considered calming scents and went with colors that could represent that.

When it came to the branding guide, I knew I needed a few different fonts throughout my papers and I chose a serif font in order to give it a bit more of a cozy, typewriter feel to go along with the calligraphy font used in the logo and titles. I also wanted my logo to be versatile and able to be shown on each of the colors I had chosen in my palette, which resulted in me creating a logo that was visible on each of the three colors. The logo itself I kept relatively simple and to the point of the brand, ‘Treat Yourself’ being the main theme & name of the brand and a heart to express self-love.
